A hot shower, dinner and camp fire stories await on return to camp

Day 3

Tidal pools and Biology 8km

Day 3 is spent exploring the low tide marine eco system, snorkeling, fishing and learning. We touch on marine biology and the effects the tidal zone has on the environment. Sustainability and pollution are included today and is the theme for the rest of our trip. We look at our daily lives and how we can make systematic changes to protect our planet. The evening is spent on a night walk with headlamps and a bit of ghost crab racing.

Day 4

Heading North 10km

After a good breakfast we bid farewell to our Mpondo locals and head back north on an inland route that takes us on a tour of Mpondo sustainable lifestyles. This area has mining pressure and we need to understand the impact this would have on the local people and ecology. We visit a rural homestay before arrival back at the Wild coast sun where we plan to be by 2pm for pickup.
